Dignity and conscience
The shared standards through which authority and service should be judged.
Care for the person
No institutional or spiritual role should justify coercion, exploitation, threats, discrimination or the suppression of lawful personal autonomy.
Care for knowledge
Leaders and teachers should represent uncertainty honestly, distinguish doctrine from evidence and remain accountable for material errors.
Care in practice
Participation should not be conditioned upon abandoning necessary professional care, family relationships or an individual’s freedom of conscience. Safeguarding and complaints procedures will need to be operationalised before formal programmes open.
